AviaNZ Birdsong Analysis Program
You can download and use AviaNZ for free. AviaNZ program is designed to achieve these goals:
- simple and rapid annotation of recordings
- denoising and automated call detection
- training procedure by which the user can prepare their own filters to recognise individual species
- run in batch mode, automatically processing folders of field recordings
- present the outputs in away that enables the user to quickly and effectively review
- outputs in a variety of spreadsheets to enable different statistical analyses to be performed

Spectrogram cheat sheet
You can find spectrogram examples from New Zealand bird species here. We also provide examples of other environmental sounds that are common in automated field recordings. The purpose is to help you read spectrograms and identify species in your field recordings correctly.
